Preparatory Department:
Preparatory course is an educational program with duration of 6-10 months. At Preparatory course students study Russian language and the special disciplines required depending on the future specialty chosen (language of Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Geography, History, and Literature)
On successful passing the examination of Preparatory course, the student receives the Certificate of the Preparatory Faculty to study further at Medical, Engineering, Aviation/ Flight School, Economic, Maritime & Environmental universities in Russian medium.
Duration: 6-10 months
Medium of instruction : Russian
Foundation Course:
Foundation course is an educational program with duration of 6-10 months and is specially designed for foreign students who don’t have good knowledge of their basic subjects to study further in medical, engineering and aeronautical fields. At Foundation course, students get basic knowledge of Russian and English languages with special disciplines required depending on the future specialty chosen (language of Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Geography, History, and Literature)
On successful passing the examination of Foundation course, the student receives the Certificate of the Preparatory Foundation Faculty to study further at Medical, Engineering, Aviation/ Flight School, Economic, Maritime & Environmental universities in Russian and English medium.
Duration: 6-10 months
Medium of instruction : English / Russian
Premedical Course:
Premedical course is an educational program with duration of 6-10 months and is specially designed for foreign students who don’t have basic knowledge(or not good knowledge) of biology, chemistry or physics to pursue his/her further studies in the field of medicine, pediatrics, dentistry, pharmacy and nursing. At premedical course, students get basic knowledge of Russian and English languages with special disciplines required for his/her further studies in the field of medicine.
Taught Subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Russian, English.
On successful passing the examination of Premedical Course, the student receives the Certificate of the Premedical department to study further at any field related to Medical in Russian and English medium.
Duration: 6-10 months

Pre-Engineering course:
Pre-Engineering course is an educational program with duration of 6-10 months and is specially designed for foreign students who don’t have basic knowledge(or not good knowledge) of mathematics, physics to pursue his/her further studies in the field of engineering, aeronautics. At pre-engineering course, students get basic knowledge of Russian and English languages with special disciplines required for his/her further studies in the field of engineering.

Medicine PG /Clinical Residency / Doctorate Programs
Russian State Medical Universities are well known in all over the world. Lot of medical research institutes are working under Russian medical Universities. Thousands of well known scientists, Professors and Academicians have studies and worked at Russian State Universities. They gave a great attribute to world of medical sciences.
Laboratories and research institutes of Russian State Medical Universities and Academies are well equipped with all modern facilities. All postgraduate students have complete rights to use all facilities available in the Russian Universities.
At the faculties of Postgraduate Education at Russian State Medical Universities or academies, postgraduate or Clinical Residency programs are offered in more than 100 medical specialties. Internship, Clinical Residency and Ph.D or Masters programs are offered in all Russian State Medical Universities.
Duration of Postgraduate programs or Clinical Residency programs are:
Surgical : 3 years
Non Surgical: 2 years
Duration for Ph.D or Masters program after completing clinical residency or postgraduate program is 3 years. On completion of Ph.D or Masters, student has to present the thesis to the commission from Ministry of Health of Russian Federation

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
For some postgraduate courses where student don’t interact with patients a lot, they don’t need to learn Russian language. For these courses they can study completely in English medium of instruction. These courses are for example RADIOLOGY, DERMATOVENEROLOGY and some others.
For postgraduate courses, where students have to interact with patients everyday, the knowledge of Russian language is compulsory. Not all patients can speak English language that’s why students has to talk with patients in Russian language.
For these courses students will undergo for a 6 month conversational course in the Russian language along with the main course in their first year of studies. This is to help them interact with the local Russian patients during the clinical visits and also for the local interaction in daily life . There is additional payment to be made for this 6 months course. The payment for Russian language course is 1000 US$.

Information: At FMSMU all postgraduate medical related courses are taught in English language completely. The tuition fee is different departments varies from 5000-7000 US$ per year.
The PG degree of FMSMU is recognized in all over the world and there is no exam after PG course from First Moscow State Medical University.
Kazan State Medical University, Kazan
Information: At KSMU all postgraduate medical related courses are taught in Russian and most popular courses are available in English language also. The tuition fee varies from 3500 – 5000 US$ per year.
Novosibirsk State University, Novosibirsk

Information: At NWSMU all postgraduate medical related courses are taught in Russian language only. The tuition fee varies from 4000 – 6000 US$ per year.
It is the second largest university for Postgraduate medical programs after First Moscow State Medical University. There degree is also well know in all PG courses.
Those students who want to join their postgraduate program in Russian language, they have to complete one year preparatory department before starting their main course.
The main objective of the postgraduate training is to allow the students of medical institutions to continue their education and general practitioners to improve their skills for further certification and faculty is directed at the training and improvement of qualification and skills of specialists to master not only up-to date medical information but new modern technologies of today and tomorrow.
The Medical postgraduate faculties of Russian State Medical Universities and Academies, together with their teaching hospitals and other health organizations in Russia and abroad, will provide the necessary physical and human resources to create a scholarly environment appropriate for the training of medical graduates so that they acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes to become accomplished physicians and surgeons with the highest moral and ethical standards.
The individual form of training is based on qualification characteristics, professional and position requirements, principles of realized perspective and doctor's pretensions. Detailed theoretical training is combined with learning practical skills, operative technique, and typical and complex operations.
To maintain their international role, the Medical postgraduate faculties of Russian State Universities intends by means of contractual arrangements with foreign countries, universities, and hospitals to train residents from other countries in their postgraduate training programs who will return to their home country upon completion of their training.
At the departments of Russian State Medical Universities, along with the traditional ways of teaching, there is also a module study, and a through out program of students' practice. Constantly developing base of computerized equipment gives the possibility to use modern PC know-how and world informative networks in the process of study.
For all postgraduate medical courses in Russia, including Masters Degree and Doctoral programs, foreign citizens are accepted who have documents which have been accepted by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation as being equivalent to the graduate medical and dental programs conducted in Russia. To attain this equivalency , all original documents have to be “Apostiled” in their home country or legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In some cases if degrees are not equivalent, the student may need to undergo a bridging program along with his postgraduate education to make his Indian degree equivalent to the Russian graduate degree. This bridging program runs simultaneously with the postgraduate study and no extra cost is incurred. The total duration for the post graduate program including the 3-month Russian language and the bridging program would remain 3 years depending on the specialization.
As far as recognition of the post graduate Degree awarded by the medical universities of Russia, the same is recognized and accepted as equivalent in most countries of Europe by virtue of Russia being a signatory to the Bologna convention. The degrees are also valued in the USA, UK, India, Pakistan, Srilanka, Africa, Middle East, Saudi Arabia, Mauritius and Seychelles where our students are employed.
